Who we are

Who We Are and Who Checks Each Page

This site reviews one casino, Cloudbet, for players in Canada. Our casino review methodology is the same for every claim we publish, and one named person stands behind it.

Sarah Thompson

Casino Review Lead

Sarah has tested online casinos for more than eight years and now runs every Cloudbet test round herself. She opens the account, funds it, plays the sample, requests the withdrawal and signs off the text before anything is published.

  • 8+ years testing casinos
  • Runs and signs off each test round
  • Owns the scoring weights below

The site is built for Canadians who want a straight answer on Cloudbet: how the crypto wallet works, how to buy coins with Interac e-Transfer, how fast a withdrawal lands and what the welcome rewards really pay. Nothing on the home page is copied from a banner; each figure comes from a test or Cloudbet's help centre.

You can read more about the team and how the site is run on the About page. This page explains the work behind the words, so you can judge the review before you rely on it.

Protocol

Our Test Protocol, Step by Step

A round of testing takes several days, uses real crypto and follows the same order each time. Here is the full run.

Getting in and funding

  1. 1 Account creation: we sign up by email, as most Canadians do, and note what is asked. There is no ID check at sign-up, but name and address are requested before the first deposit.
  2. 2 KYC levels: we record each level. Level 1 is a phone check. Level 2 adds photo ID, proof of address and a face check, and applies once deposits reach US$2,200 or withdrawals pass US$2,200 a day.
  3. 3 Buying crypto: Cloudbet has no CAD account, so we buy USDT in the cashier through the partner Swapped, paying with Interac e-Transfer. We write down Swapped's fee separately, since Cloudbet adds none. If a payment does not go through, our declined deposit guide covers the fixes.

Playing and cashing out

  1. 4 Crypto deposit: we also send coins from an outside wallet and time how long the network confirmations take before the balance shows.
  2. 5 Fixed sample: we play the same mix every round: slots from several studios, live blackjack and roulette, and Cloudbet Originals. One sample keeps rounds comparable.
  3. 6 Withdrawal timing: we request a crypto withdrawal to our own wallet, note the minute it is sent and the minute it arrives. Cloudbet says most are instant and some take up to 24 hours.

Three checks that run alongside

  • Provably-fair check: we take a finished Originals round and re-run it in Cloudbet's public calculator using the server seed, client seed and nonce.
  • Support chat: we ask the same five questions in the 24/7 live chat, on rewards, verification limits, withdrawals, fees and limits tools, and log reply time and accuracy.
  • Mobile browser: there is no app, so we test the full site in a phone browser, including the cashier and a withdrawal. We tell readers to ignore any APK offered elsewhere.

The last step is reading the terms and help centre and checking each claim against them. That is how we confirmed that the welcome package is rakeback and cash drops rather than a match offer.

Corrections

How We Correct Mistakes

Sites change, and so does our understanding. Each page shows three dates, and each one means something different.

Published
The day the page first went live. It never changes.
Updated
Moves when we change a sentence, a number or a score, including after a reader report.
Checked
Moves when we re-read the live site and help centre and confirm nothing needs changing.
Re-test trigger
A change to the welcome package, the cashier, a verification level or the Rewards tiers.

What happens after a report

  1. Report

A reader tells us a fact looks wrong, through the route on the About page.

  2. Verify

We check it against the live site, the help centre and, where needed, a fresh test.

  3. Fix

If we were wrong, we rewrite the line and any score it affects the same day.

  4. Date

We move the Updated date, so you can see the page changed.

Every correction shows up in the Updated date at the foot of the page it touches. The About page explains what each of the three dates means and who signs off the changes.

Scoring

Scoring Criteria and Weights

Six criteria, fixed weights that add up to 100%. The Cloudbet review uses exactly these.

  • Bonuses and rewards, 20%: what the package pays in practice, how clear the rules are and what happens after it ends.
  • Games and studios, 20%: range, studio quality, live tables, Originals and how easy it is to find a game.
  • Payments and payout speed, 20%: coins on offer, buy-crypto routes for Canadians, fees and withdrawal time.
  • Safety and licence, 15%: the licence, account security tools, responsible gambling controls and fairness checks.
  • Support, 10%: how fast the live chat replies and whether answers are correct and complete.
  • Mobile and usability, 15%: how the site behaves in a phone browser, navigation and the cashier flow.

How a score out of 10 is given

Each criterion has five checks. A check scores 2 if it passes clearly, 1 if it passes with a caveat and 0 if it fails. The five results add up to a score from 0 to 10, which is multiplied by the weight; the total is the sum of the six results.

Bonuses and rewards20%8/108.0
Games and studios20%9/109.0
Payments and payout speed20%9/109.0
Safety and licence15%8/108.0
Support10%8/108.0
Mobile and usability15%8/108.0
Weighted total8.4 / 10

The scorecard uses round example numbers to show the maths, not the actual review result. Here: 8 x 0.20 = 1.6, 9 x 0.20 = 1.8, 9 x 0.20 = 1.8, 8 x 0.15 = 1.2, 8 x 0.10 = 0.8 and 8 x 0.15 = 1.2. Together that is 8.4 out of 10.

Fit

Who This Does Not Suit

Our scores describe Cloudbet as it works, and some players will want something different.

You want a CAD balance

Cloudbet's wallet is crypto only and valued in US$. If you want to hold and withdraw Canadian dollars, a crypto wallet is a different way of paying.

You want an app or a phone line

Support is 24/7 live chat and the site runs in your browser. There is no app and no phone number.

You want a match bonus with free spins

The welcome package is cash rewards over 30 days. Players who like match percentages will not find one.

You want a ranking of many casinos

We test one brand in depth rather than rank dozens in a list. For a head-to-head table, you will need a comparison site.

Myths

Myths and Misconceptions

The same five wrong ideas keep turning up. Here is what we found.

No wagering means no rules

The rewards carry no wagering, but they are rakeback and cash drops and must be claimed within 24 hours of unlocking. The package also runs for 30 days, up to US$2,500.

Crypto casinos do not pay

Our withdrawals went to our own wallet, and Cloudbet says most are instant, some up to 24 hours. You pay only the network fee, not a Cloudbet fee.

Provably fair means you cannot lose

It means you can verify that a round was not altered after the fact. The game still has a house edge, so results vary from round to round.

A higher RTP guarantees a win

RTP describes returns across a huge number of spins, not one session. A short session can end well above or well below it.

Verification is always needed before playing

Nothing is requested at sign-up. Name and address come before the first deposit, and photo ID matters mainly once deposits reach US$2,200.

Review Methodology Questions Answered

How often is the Cloudbet review updated?

The Updated date changes whenever we alter text, a number or a score. The Checked date moves when we re-read the live site and the help centre and find nothing to change.

Do you use your own money to test?

Yes. We deposit real crypto, play real rounds and withdraw to a wallet we control, because a demo session cannot show deposit credit times, withdrawal speed or how rewards are paid.

Do the scores change if Cloudbet pays you more?

No. The six criteria and their weights are fixed and published on this page, and the same weights are used for the review. A commission does not enter the maths, and a score is only changed when a test result or a verified fact changes.

Why is the welcome package scored under bonuses and not as a match offer?

Because that is what it is. We score what the package pays in practice: 10% rakeback, daily cash drops and a final Cash Vault, with no wagering on the rewards. It is not a match bonus and there are no free spins, so we do not grade it against one.

What is the provably-fair check?

For Cloudbet Originals we take a finished round, copy the server seed, client seed and nonce, and re-run it in Cloudbet's public calculator. If the calculator reproduces the result shown in the game, the round passes.

How do I report a mistake?

Use the route described on our review and About pages. We check the claim against the live site, fix the text if it is wrong and move the Updated date.

Put Our Method to Your Own Test

Every step above is one you can repeat yourself with a small first deposit. Open Cloudbet, run the same checks and compare what you see with what we wrote.
