Cloudbet Deposit Declined: The Short Answer

A Cloudbet deposit is declined when your bank blocks the payment, a limit is reached (your bank's Interac cap or Cloudbet's US$2,200 cap before level 2 verification), or a crypto transfer uses the wrong network. Each has a simple fix, and a direct crypto transfer is the most reliable route.

That is the whole picture in one breath, and the rest of this page unpacks it. We read Cloudbet's deposit articles in its help centre and Swapped's own help pages on 7 October 2026, and we have kept to what those sources say. Where a figure is not published, the page says so instead of guessing.

The key fact behind every Cloudbet deposit declined message is that the wallet is crypto only. There is no Canadian dollar account and no card terminal inside the cashier, so every deposit arrives as a coin: either you send it yourself, or you buy it in the cashier through Cloudbet's payment partner, Swapped. "Declined" can therefore come from three different places (your bank, Swapped or Cloudbet's own limits), and the fix depends on which one said no.

Before anything else, look at your bank, card or wallet statement. Cloudbet's own help says that if no payment was taken, the purchase did not go through and you can simply try again; only if money left your account and no crypto arrived do you need to contact Swapped with your order reference (see the Swapped help article on Cloudbet). That one check separates a harmless failed attempt from a payment that needs chasing.

Six quick checks before you try again

  • Statement first: no payment taken means nothing is lost, and a new attempt is free of consequences.
  • Switch route: if the card or Interac purchase fails, send crypto from a wallet or exchange instead, or the other way round.
  • Bank limit: Interac caps are set by your bank, often C$2,000 to C$3,000 per transaction, so a larger purchase may need splitting.
  • Verification level: level 1 allows US$2,200 in lifetime deposits; level 2 removes the cap and releases anything held.
  • Coin and network: use the native coin on a supported network, never a bridged token such as USDC.e or USDT.e.
  • Minimum amount: most coins sit between US$0.10 and US$0.50, and the exact figure is on the deposit screen.

If you have not opened an account yet, our Cloudbet review covers the licence, the welcome package and the cashier in one read. The welcome package starts with a first deposit of any amount, so a smooth first payment is worth setting up properly. You can also open the cashier and compare what you read here with the options your own account shows.

Statement

How a Cloudbet Deposit Looks on Your Statement

Cloudbet does not take Interac or card payments itself, so a purchase made in the cashier is billed by the payment partner and should appear under that partner's name, not under Cloudbet.

  1. In the cashier

You choose Add funds, then Deposit with card, pick a coin (BTC, ETH or USDT) and select Swapped. Cloudbet's page shows no payment at this point.

  2. At Swapped

You enter the amount and pick Interac, a card or a wallet. Swapped shows an order summary with the fee included before you pay and emails a confirmation with an order reference.

  3. At your bank

Your bank records a payment to the payment partner, with its own wording. It is the line to look for, and it is not a Cloudbet line.

  4. In your balance

The crypto is sent straight to your Cloudbet account and appears once the transaction is confirmed. No separate wallet is needed.

We went looking for the exact descriptor string a Canadian card or Interac statement shows for a Swapped purchase. Neither Swapped's help centre nor Cloudbet's articles publish one, so we do not quote one here. What is published is who stands behind the payment: Swapped ApS, a company registered in Brabrand, Denmark, which states on its help centre that it is registered with FINTRAC in Canada as a money service business (see how Swapped is regulated). If you see an unfamiliar partner name next to the date and amount of your attempt, that is almost certainly the payment you made.

What each route leaves on your statement

Card or Apple Pay or Google Pay: a card purchase from the payment partner. A debit card shows it as a settled item, and some banks first show a pending line that disappears if the payment is declined. A pending line that vanishes is a hold, not a charge, so do not count it twice. If the payment is billed in a foreign currency, your card agreement may add its own conversion charge; check the terms of your own card.

Interac e-Transfer: an e-Transfer you sent shows in your banking history with the date and amount, in the wording your bank uses for outgoing transfers. We could not confirm the recipient text, which is the bank's own.

Direct crypto transfer: nothing from Cloudbet appears on a bank statement at all, because the coins move on the blockchain. If you bought those coins on an exchange, the exchange is the name on your statement.

If a payment was taken and the crypto has not arrived

Keep the Swapped confirmation email. Cloudbet's help lists what Swapped support needs: the order reference from that email, the payment method you used, the amount and currency you paid, the crypto you were buying and a screenshot showing the payment was taken. With that, a missing delivery is usually quick to trace, and it is far easier than describing a vague charge from memory.

Rails

Banking Rails: How Money Reaches Cloudbet From Canada

Three routes lead into a Cloudbet wallet, and only one of them touches your bank account directly.

Transfer crypto

You pick a coin and network under Add funds, copy the deposit address and send from your own wallet or exchange.

  • No bank checks on the Cloudbet side
  • Exact minimum shown on screen
  • Credits after confirmations

Connect wallet or exchange

You link a wallet or an exchange account to the cashier and approve the transfer there, so you do not copy an address by hand.

  • Fewer copy-paste mistakes
  • Same coins and networks
  • Your wallet sets the pace

Deposit with card

You buy BTC, ETH or USDT with a local method through Swapped, and the coins go straight to your Cloudbet account.

  • Interac e-Transfer for Canada
  • Cards, wallets and vouchers
  • Swapped fee shown first

The third rail is where most Canadian declines happen, simply because it is the only one that passes through a bank or card issuer. Your bank sees a purchase from a crypto on-ramp and applies its own rules for such purchases, which differ from one bank to the next. The first two rails never ask a bank anything at Cloudbet's end; if the coins are already in a wallet, the only gatekeepers are the network and the minimum.

Two Canadian points matter here. First, Cloudbet shows balances in a crypto wallet valued in US dollars, so every limit on this page is in US$ and we do not convert to Canadian dollars; your bank statement, of course, still shows Canadian dollars. Second, Interac e-Transfer is the Canadian bank rail, and it is available at over 250 participating financial institutions according to Interac. Interac says each bank sets its own transaction limit, typically C$2,000 to C$3,000, so your own app is the place to check or raise it.

For a wider look at funding options and how they compare, see the Cloudbet banking page. It uses the same facts as this one, arranged by route instead of by problem.

Crypto transfer. This row covers BTC, ETH, USDT and the other supported coins. Cloudbet states that most minimums are under US$1, typically US$0.10 to US$0.50 in value, with the exact figure on the deposit screen. "No cap, level 2" means a fully verified account has no deposit limit; a level 1 account has a US$2,200 lifetime cap. The only cost on your side is the network fee your sending wallet or exchange charges, and the coins usually credit within minutes, sometimes later when a blockchain is busy.

The five Swapped rows. Interac e-Transfer, Visa and Mastercard debit, Apple Pay and Google Pay, Skrill and Neteller, and Paysafecard are all purchases of crypto from Swapped, not deposits to a Canadian dollar balance. Swapped charges its own processing fee, which varies by method and is shown before you pay; Cloudbet adds nothing on top. Neither company publishes a fixed minimum or maximum for your account, so we mark those cells "not published" rather than quoting a number from a third-party site. The "Bank limit" in the Interac row is your bank's own per-transaction cap. Delivery after payment is described as seconds to minutes by Swapped, and up to 30 minutes if the order goes to manual review.

Availability. Cloudbet's help lists these methods for Swapped worldwide and names Interac e-Transfer for Canada, but also says you will only see the options supported in your region. Its own example for a Canadian player names AstroPay, Skrill, Neteller and Interac. If a row in the table is missing from your cashier, that is availability, not a decline, and another row will do the same job.

Withdrawal. Every row ends in the same place: withdrawals are crypto only, sent to your own wallet or exchange, with no Cloudbet fee beyond the network fee. Most are instant, and some can take up to 24 hours. A card or Interac purchase is therefore a one-way entry into a crypto wallet, and you should plan the exit as a crypto address before you fund.

Wallets

Wallets: Apple Pay, Google Pay, Skrill, Neteller and Crypto

"Wallet" means two different things at Cloudbet: payment wallets that you use to buy crypto, and crypto wallets that you send from.

Payment wallets inside Swapped

Apple Pay and Google Pay are convenient, but they are a front door to a card you already have. When a payment through either one fails, the real decision was made by the bank behind the card, so the fix is the card fix: approve the prompt in your banking app, check that the card allows crypto purchases and try again. Switching from your phone wallet to a different card from a different bank is a legitimate test, and so is trying Interac, which draws from a chequing account instead.

Skrill and Neteller are separate accounts with their own balances, verification and limits, all managed in those wallets, outside both Cloudbet and Swapped. A payment fails here when the balance is too small, when the wallet account has a pending verification or when the wallet's own spending limit is reached. Fix it by topping up or raising the limit inside the wallet, then repeat the purchase. Paysafecard is a prepaid voucher: the amount you enter must not exceed the balance of the voucher. AstroPay belongs to the same family of local methods.

Cloudbet's payment-methods article lists Apple Pay, Google Pay, Skrill, Neteller and Paysafecard under global digital wallets and Interac e-Transfer under Canada (which payment methods does Cloudbet accept). The Swapped article for Canadians gives a shorter example list. Take both as "may be offered": the cashier shows only what Swapped is currently offering your account, and a method that is not listed is not a declined one.

Crypto wallets and exchanges

Sending from a wallet you control is the plainest rail, and the details decide whether it works. Copy the deposit address from the screen every time rather than from a saved address book, because Cloudbet states that some coins let you generate a new address that replaces the old one, and the old one stops working. If a coin needs a tag or memo, paste it too. Never send to the address a past withdrawal came from, since that address belongs to Cloudbet and not to your account.

Exchanges add a layer of their own. Cloudbet says that if you are unsure whether your exchange allows transfers to and from gaming sites, you should ask the exchange before you send. A withdrawal that the exchange refuses is a decline on the exchange side, and it will not show up in Cloudbet at all. Moving the coins to a personal wallet first, or choosing Connect wallet or exchange in the cashier, are the usual workarounds.

Cards

Debit Cards: Visa and Mastercard Through Swapped

A debit card works as a payment method for the Swapped purchase, so the question is always whether your bank approves a crypto purchase at that moment.

What works in your favour

Your own money

A debit card draws from your account, so no borrowing and no interest are involved.

No Cloudbet fee

Cloudbet adds nothing; Swapped's own fee is shown on the summary before you pay.

Direct delivery

The coins go straight to your Cloudbet account, and no separate crypto wallet is needed.

Good to know

The bank decides

Issuers set their own rules for crypto and gaming-related payments, and these differ from bank to bank.

Extra approval

Many banks ask you to confirm a purchase in their app or with a code (3-D Secure), and the payment fails if it times out.

Credit cards differ

A credit card can be handled as a cash advance, which has a different cost structure.

What 3-D Secure means for a decline

3-D Secure is the extra confirmation step many Canadian banks add to online card payments. The bank pops up a window or pushes a notification to its app, and you approve the purchase there. If you miss the notification, block pop-ups in your browser, or take too long, the bank counts the payment as unauthenticated and Swapped reports a failed attempt. It looks like a decline, but nothing is wrong with the card. Turn on notifications for your banking app, allow pop-ups for the checkout, keep the app open and approve at once.

Why credit cards are the awkward case

Canada has no federal ban on paying for gambling with a credit card, but issuers have their own policies. The Financial Consumer Agency of Canada explains that cash advances and cash-like transactions have no interest-free grace period, that interest runs from the date of the transaction and that a fee may apply each time; it lists gaming transactions among cash-like transactions (see How credit cards work). Whether a crypto purchase through Swapped is coded that way depends on your issuer, so some cards decline it and others accept it with a cash-advance charge. Debit is the cleaner choice, and the next best route is Interac or a direct crypto transfer.

If your debit card is declined

Open your banking app and look for a blocked or declined notice, because many banks show the reason there. Check the daily purchase limit on the debit card, which is separate from the Interac limit, and ask your bank whether crypto purchases are allowed on it. Avoid hammering the button: several quick retries can look like fraud to a bank's monitoring and can lead to a temporary block. Wait a few minutes, approve any prompt and try once more, or move to Interac e-Transfer, which uses a different path through your bank.

Causes and fixes

Why a Cloudbet Deposit Is Declined, and the Fix for Each

Every cause below is either bank-side or a setup detail, and each one has a short fix that you can try in a few minutes.

At your bank or card issuer

  1. 1 Bank blocks the payment: some issuers decline gambling-related or crypto-related purchases outright. Fix: check the app for a blocked notice, ask the bank to allow the payment, or use Interac or a crypto transfer.
  2. 2 Interac limit reached: your bank sets daily and per-transaction e-Transfer limits, often C$2,000 to C$3,000 per transaction. Fix: buy a smaller amount, or raise the limit in your banking app.
  3. 3 3-D Secure fails: the confirmation prompt is missed or times out. Fix: allow pop-ups, keep notifications on and approve straight away on the retry.

At Swapped or Cloudbet

  1. 1 Name mismatch: Swapped may ask for ID, a liveness check and, in some cases, proof of address, so a card or account in someone else's name will not match. Fix: pay from an account in your own name.
  2. 2 US$2,200 lifetime cap: a level 1 account cannot deposit past US$2,200 in total. Fix: complete level 2 and held funds are released immediately.
  3. 3 Personal deposit limit: a daily, weekly or monthly limit you set blocks deposits above it. Fix: wait for the period to reset, or review the limit; stricter limits apply at once, looser ones after 24 hours.

Crypto transfers that do not show up

  • Wrong network or bridged token: Cloudbet supports native coins only, so USDC.e and USDT.e are not accepted, and a coin sent on the wrong network is not recoverable in most cases. Fix: check the network on the deposit screen before sending.
  • Below the minimum: an amount under the coin's minimum is not credited. Fix: read the minimum on the deposit screen and send a little more than it.
  • Pending confirmations: the coins can need a few blocks on a busy network. Fix: wait at least 10 minutes, refresh, then check the transaction hash on a blockchain explorer.
  • Exchange side block: your exchange may refuse withdrawals to gaming sites. Fix: ask the exchange, or send from a personal wallet.
  • Old address: a regenerated address replaces the previous one, and sending to the old one is not recoverable. Fix: copy the address shown now, every time.
  • Unsupported coin: a coin that is not among the 29 supported will not appear. Fix: check the supported list on the deposit screen first.

Held, not lost

The two Cloudbet-side limits deserve one more sentence each, because they feel like a decline but are not. The US$2,200 cap is a lifetime total across all deposits, not a daily one, and it applies whatever personal limit you have set. An amount above the cap is held and credited the moment level 2 verification is complete. Level 2 means a photo ID, proof of address and a face check, and Cloudbet's help says it takes only minutes (see why is my balance on hold).

A personal deposit limit works the same way: money above it waits until the period resets or you lift the limit. Cloudbet has a guide on how to set a deposit limit. It is a useful tool, and if you set one on purpose, a held deposit is the limit doing its job.

Before your very first deposit, Cloudbet also shows a wallet lock screen asking for your name and address. That is an anti-money-laundering step, not a verification, and the lock lifts as soon as you submit the details. If the cashier will not accept a deposit on a brand-new account, check for that prompt first.

Pitfalls

Common Mistakes That Trigger a Decline

Five habits cause most failed Cloudbet deposits, and each one is easy to drop once you know about it.

Reusing a saved address

An address stored in an exchange book may be out of date. Copy it fresh from the deposit screen each time.

Picking a similar network

Matching the token name is not enough; the network must match too, and bridged versions are not supported.

Retrying five times in a row

Repeated attempts can trip a bank's fraud monitor. Pause, find the reason, then try once.

Paying twice while waiting

A slow credit is not a failure. Check the statement and wait 10 minutes before sending again.

Paying from another person's account

Identity checks compare names, so use a card or account that is yours.

One more habit is worth adding to the list: treating a card or Interac decline as a verdict on your account. It is almost never that. It is one payment path being closed, and the others stay open. A direct crypto transfer needs nothing from your bank and nothing from Swapped, which is why we call it the reliable route throughout this page. Once your balance lands, you can try a favourite slot such as Dead or Alive 2, or head back to the Cloudbet home page for the games lobby and the welcome package.

If you set a deposit limit for yourself, keep it. Limits are there to help you play within your budget, and Canadian help lines such as ConnexOntario and the Responsible Gambling Council are there if play stops being fun. The legal age is 19 in most provinces and 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec.

Send crypto, skip the bank checks

Open the cashier, choose Transfer crypto, check the network and minimum on screen and send. If you have no crypto yet, Deposit with card lets you buy it in the same place.

Declined Deposit Questions Canadians Ask

Why was my Cloudbet deposit declined?

The cause is almost always on the payment side: your bank blocked a crypto or gambling-related payment, an Interac or card limit was reached, the 3-D Secure prompt timed out, or a crypto transfer used the wrong network or an amount below the minimum. Check your statement first. If no payment was taken, nothing is lost and you can try again.

Does Cloudbet accept Interac e-Transfer?

Cloudbet lists Interac e-Transfer for Canada as one of the payment methods available through its partner Swapped. You buy crypto with it inside the cashier under Add funds, then Deposit with card. Which options appear depends on what Swapped offers your account at that moment, so the cashier is the final word. More on the banking side is on the banks page.

What does a Cloudbet deposit look like on my bank statement?

A purchase made in the cashier is processed by Swapped, so expect the payment partner's name rather than Cloudbet. We could not find a published descriptor, so we do not quote one. Keep the Swapped confirmation email, because it carries the order reference you would need if you ever contact support.

Why does Cloudbet say my deposit limit is reached or my balance is on hold?

Accounts without level 2 verification have a US$2,200 lifetime deposit cap, counted across all deposits. Anything above it is held, not lost, and is released as soon as level 2 is complete. The same message can appear if you set a daily, weekly or monthly deposit limit yourself.

Can I deposit to Cloudbet with a credit card?

Card purchases run through Swapped, and the decision belongs to your card issuer. The Financial Consumer Agency of Canada notes that gaming transactions can be treated as cash-like transactions, with no interest-free grace period and a possible fee. A debit card or a direct crypto transfer avoids that.

I sent crypto and it has not appeared. What now?

Wait at least 10 minutes, then refresh. Next confirm that the coin and network are supported (bridged tokens such as USDC.e are not), that you met the minimum shown on the deposit screen, and that you used the current address. If it is still missing, contact live chat with the coin, network, address, date and transaction hash.

What is the minimum deposit at Cloudbet?

Cloudbet states that most coins have a minimum under US$1, typically between US$0.10 and US$0.50 in value, and that the exact figure for your coin shows on the deposit screen. A deposit below it is not credited, so check the screen before you send.
